Who I am
Mother of 2, lover of 1, Feeder of cat and with any time left I love to Make and Do.
My mum taught me to sew when I was about 11 years old in fact she has just passed me down that very same sewing machine. It works like a dream compared to the other 3 machines I have in my house.
I started sewing for fun and pleasure again about a year ago, by that I mean not dragging out the machine just to turn up the odd pair of jeans or repair someone's zip. I always enjoyed making bags but while cleaning out the spare room I came across a box of my baby cards and 1 in particular had a group of amazingly odd but brilliantly kitsch toy animals on the front and I instantly wanted to make them..... But I didn't, but will do one day. I did start making some toy animals though. It was a great project to use up the two massive piles of vintage fabric I had collected. And from there I have been making all sorts of lovely handmade crafts.
What I do
I am a craft maker, a maker of crafty wears. I really love to use (when possible) old unused materials and try to repurpose them into something practical or just plain beautiful. You will find gorgeous bags, purses and accessories all of which will be made from vintage fabrics or of a vintage/retro style. You will also be able to see my toys. Some I have designed myself and some of them came from patterns. With these I have also tried to give a vintage look and style. I am also working on sock animals and felt dolls. Each and every one is individual and needs loving. All are perfect if you are looking for a unique homemade gift for someone special.
